Debra Owen of Alameda. Under Debra Owen’s leadership during the past six years, the Frank Bette Center for the Arts has greatly expanded its programming. The Center now hosts 12 onsite exhibitions and 10 satellite exhibitions per year, offers an expanded selection of art classes in traditional and digital media, organizes literary and poetry events, and coordinates the week-long Plein Air outdoor painting event featuring the work of forty artists. She manages the programs with an all volunteer staff. Debra Owen is a creative, compassionate and fiscally responsible administrator, who has made the Frank Bette Center for the Arts into a lively community center for artists of all ages and artistic disciplines.
