Andy Jorgensen

Representing Alameda County Supervisorial District One —

Andy Jorgensen is a lifelong supporter of the Arts. He has served as Civic Arts Manager for the City of Pleasanton since 1989. He is the lead staff person for the Pleasanton Civic Arts Commission and serves as City liaison to the non-profit Pleasanton Cultural Arts Council and Pleasanton Cultural Arts Foundation. He was the project manager for the City’s Cultural Plan, Arts Facilities Plan, Arts Marketing Plan, and Downtown Public Art Master Plan. As the Civic Arts Manager, Mr. Jorgensen started many of the successful arts programs that are now run by the City of Pleasanton. He has overseen the city’s Poet Laureate Program, the Civic Arts Presents program, and the successful remodel of the Amador Theater. Prior to his work for the City of Pleasanton, he was the founding Executive Director of the Children’s Theater Workshop and also served as an appointed member of the Alameda County Arts Commission. His career is culminating with the recent opening of the new Firehouse Arts Center in Historic Downtown Pleasanton.
